hi all! hope you have been well! i have been holed up in south florida serving beer to hockey parents and doing some behind-the-scenes work with a few musicians i respect a lot. it has been fun! i haven’t touched an instrument in a long while, which is different, but comfortable for the moment.

just thought i would give a small update. no final tour this year, maybe 2013 if we are still around? i can tell you this, i will play these songs in Durham, UK one more time no matter what. that is going down.

imadethismistake’s last show* is this upcoming thursday at Concrete in Virginia Beach, VA. hope some of you can make it out!

* = i reserve the right to do a uk tour at some point in the next year and finish things out in real style.

thanks to everyone who made this past tour a success, it was wonderful to see familiar faces and make new friends. there are 3 festival appearances lined up for February [Tallahassee's Fresh Fest] March [Tuszon's Brootal Sun Fest] and April [RVA's Stay Sweet! Fest], but otherwise things should be pretty quiet on the imadethismistake front for the next while. catch me on tour playing drums for the Wild for the rest of the year!

starting 2011 much like we did 2010, except this time less gear and people. imadethisacousticmistake will be out january 24 – february 3, going around florida, georgia, virginia, and north carolina. sean judson, one of my oldest friends, is coming to hang out on his first tour, so bring him a cigarette and maybe a beer, possibly a hair comb. dates are in the tours section.

i am working on editing a new music video for a song off of different ghosts. it should be up before tour!

so this past weekend i played a show with Waxahatchee, which is Katie from P.S. Eliot / Bad Banana’s solo project. It was fun, we played one set trading off songs… before playing we started messing around with one of our favourite bands/peoples’ songs, Gray Skies by the Two Funerals. The next day in Katie’s sisters’ bedroom we recorded a rendition of aforementioned song, so here it is. for free download enjoy!

years ago some internet faux-musician stole a song of mine and published it as his own, not bothering to even record his own version… instead, just taking an older version of me and putting it up on his myspace. i made a video explaining the situation as plainly as i could, and hopefully i can stop getting messages asking me if i stole a song i wrote when i was 14.

i am really excited to announce that Solidarity Recordings and Bermuda Mohawk Productions have teamed up to bring our latest full length, Bow & Quiver, out on vinyl. There are 100 copies on a really rad transparent green, and 400 on brutal black. You can get them from both labels websites, and the Green is exclusively online. I am so proud of this record, and after hearing it on vinyl ,am convinced that is the way it is supposed to be listened to. It was re-mastered and some new, vinyl-only things were added onto it. You’ll have to listen to it to find out what!

so we are almost a week away from the wonderful FEST in gainesville, where we will be playing full band electric in the usa for the first time since march. i am excited to announce two more full band shows before the end of the year. November 19 & 20 in Boston & Providence, respectively. Both are LP release shows and the amazing WEAK TEETH will be accompanying us at both shows … accompanying is probably not the right word as 3/4 of WT is in IMTM. fun though!

ARE YOU PLAYING AS A FULL BAND OR SOLO?
we are playing with the line-up that recorded “bow and quiver,” so yes, full band plus horn section.

ARE YOU PLAYING ANY HOUSE SHOWS?
probably not, so come to the main set!

WILL YOU HAVE ANY SPECIAL VINYL OR MERCH?
we did a small run of t-shirts just for the fest, and we will be releasing the LP of “Bow and Quiver” at our show on friday.
